Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs said he will take a medical leave of absence until the end of June, saying his health-related issues were "more complex than I originally thought."
He said curiosity about his health was distracting for the company and named Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook to lead Apple's day-to-day operations. "As CEO, I plan to remain involved in major strategic decisions while I am out," he wrote in an e-mail to Apple employees.
